Esbarrei nessa mochila num e-mail enviado pela Kipling. Ah, o verão... Eu estaria feliz com ela nas costas, de preferencia numa praia. Quem sabe?

I’ve come across this beauty in an e-mail sent to me by Kipling. Summer, summer… I wouldn’t mind carry one of this as I walk by the beach, somewhere far from here…

Se você mora com o namorado, marido, amigos (etc., use a imaginação), deve ter percebido que, por maior que seja o grau de intimidade entre você e os outros seres da casa, existem coisinhas que você gostaria de fazer estando, de preferencia, sozinha.* Acertei? (se não, finjam que sim.)

Recentemente me vi solitária novamente. Num apartamento em que o único outro ser vivo é uma planta. E meu trabalho é praticamente todo feito em home office, então imagine o quanto de tempo eu passo em casa. Pensando nisso, outro dia, de bobeira, me dei conta de que isso poderia render umas trocas por aqui. Taí: ‘Dez coisas pra se fazer quando se está sozinha em casa’! Besteirinhas pra se passar o tempo quando não estiver trabalhando. Dicas? Já tenho a lista quase toda em mente.

Pinte, repinte, refaça e bagunce suas unhas dos pés o quanto quiser. Ninguém vai aparecer pra dizer: 'você trocou de esmalte 4 vezes em 5 dias?'

*Não levem tudo ao pé da letra, ok? Não se tratam de coisas super secretas nem nada do tipo. Apenas coisas boas de se fazer, mas que ficam mais gostosas de se fazer quando estamos sós.

If you live with your boyfriend, husband, friends (etc., let’s be creative) you might have noticed that, as much as you feel you share a great deal of intimacy with everyone, there are certain things you do at home that you’d rather do by yourself. Right?* (Help me, ok?)

Recently I’ve found myself living by myself again, this time in a flat where the only other living thing is a plant. And to top it up my work is 99% based on home office schedules; imagine how much time I normally spend at home. I caught myself wondering about that the other day and decided to share this with you. So: ‘Ten things to do when you’re home by yourself’. Any tips? I already have an almost complete list but wouldn’t mind an extra help.

Paint, re-paint, re-do your pedicure as much as you like. No one’s gonna show up to say ‘you’ve changed your nail varnish** 4 times in 5 days?’

*Let us not be too harsh with this idea, ok? It’s not about practicality or loneliness, it’s just about having fun with simple things.

** Love that word.

Eu sei, eu sei. O blog está devagar quase parado. Eu sei. Eu culpo 2 fatores: 1. A pilha de trabalhos dos meus graduandos que estou corrigindo e 2. A demora (angustiante) do processo ‘webdesigner + programação + contratação de serviços’ pro novo site do Gato.

Moving on... Eu já declarei aqui e ali (e em todo canto) meu ‘girl crush’ pela sueca Elin Kling desde inicios de 2011 e ele só tem aumentado. Elin deixou de ser quase-modelo que virou blogueira, que virou editora chefe (e criadora) da revista Styleby pra se tornar, além de tudo isso, idealizadora e mente criativa de uma nova marca, a Totême, a qual fundou junto do namorado (ex-modelo) Karl Lindman.

A marca traz peças casuais no estilo ‘ferias de luxo’, com um design sofisticado, meio minimalista cool que se tornou a marca característica do estilo pessoal de Elin – e do próprio Karl. O lançamento será amanha e as peças serão vendidas exclusivamente pelo Net-a-Porter e The Line.

Alguma dúvida do que já entrou pra wishlist? Especialmente agora que finalmente entramos na primavera! (hurray!)

I know and I apologise for the long silence in here. But I have two major good reasons for that: 1. I’m currently marking my undergraduates essays and 2. The long lasting process of getting the new layout and domain ready from the webdesigner. This is taking forever.

Moving on… I’ve already declared here and there my unconditional girl crush for Elin Kling (since early 2011) and this crush only seems to get bigger. Elin, an almost-model-turned-blogger-turned-magazine-editor-in-chief-and-creator-turned-fashion-entrepeneur has now funded her own brand, along with boyfriend Karl Lindman. Totême is a leisurewear line that includes amazingly crafted sandals, shirts, dresses and cashmeres, is to be launched tomorrow. The pieces will be also sold at Net-a-Porter and The line.

Taking Elin’s impeccable style and Lindman’s equally minimalist cool, the brand promises to bring some really desirable statement pieces. Any doubt of what’s gonna be in my spring/summer wishlist?
